Our last protest was held on Monday 10th Aug 2009 , Ricky, George and Colonel Bob Stewart handed in a letter to the Defence Secretary ,Bob Ainsworth, MP, demanding an urgent meeting. They then marched to Downing Street and handed a protest letter for Gordon Brown at No 10. The trio then marched to Parliament Square accompanied by AAF supporters.
WOW - A fantastic day had by all. Action for Armed forces had made their presence known from the moment we started, car horns beeping ,lorry drivers sounding long blasts on their horns and members of the general public clapping and cheering made every moment worth while ! Proudly we stood thanking everyone for the support that they were showing . Tourists from all over the world photographing us and families crowding around us. Co-founder George Kay making quite an impact with the public with his array of medals and the coverted SAS beret. One particular was an MOD police officer, insisting he would like to be photographed with our Co-founders and president Colonel Bob Stewart DSO on the steps of Downing Street, he commented, " You have my utmost respect and support, please keep doing what your doing for the sake of our lads" . We would like to thank everyone for the support that they showed us on Monday. Please be sure to keep an eye on the Website for details of our next protest march. THEY AIN'T SEEN NOTHING YET.
